The New York Knicks are going to the NBA Finals with a chance to erase a long run of postseason futility.<\/p>\n

This is their first appearance in the finals since 1999, and they haven\u2019t won a championship since 1973. It\u2019s been so long that even New York Gov. Kathy Hochul seems to be confused about the history of it<\/a> \u2014 unless she was joking about the \u201c1993 championship team.\u201d<\/p>\n

And before Knicks fans get too excited, they should remember that either the defending-champion Oklahoma City Thunder or the Victor Wembanyama-led San Antonio Spurs will be coming out of the West. Who should the Knicks rather play<\/a>? Is \u201cneither\u201d an option?<\/p>\n
