Jaguar has responded to the reveals of the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-door Coupe and Ferrari Luce by throwing its arms out wide and shouting \u2018how you like me now, suckers\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Despite suffering an international backlash from so-called \u2018fan\u2019 communities upon the reveal of its Type 00 \u2013 and now Type 01 \u2013 electric vehicle, the British carmaker is basking in suddenly becoming the subject of the automotive world\u2019s appreciation.<\/p>\n

Sources close to Jaguar have said it now plans on driving prototype Type 01s \u2013 with door graphics of Sir William Lyons wearing sunglasses \u2013 relentlessly around the streets of Affalterbach and Maranello, once it had figured out a route that took in fast charging points.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cBet we\u2019re looking pretty sweet right now,\u201d a source said. \u201cNational scandal over a sodding concept car and advertising campaign? Leave it out. Have you seen<\/em> what the others are doing? Forget a bold and forward-thinking concept making the front pages of the rags, those things demand parliamentary committees be convened.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuddenly a pastel pink Jaguar that looks like it came out of the cool Batman cartoons is now your automotive saviour, and after the two years we\u2019ve just had, we\u2019re here for it,\u201d the source added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When pushed on how Jaguar would capitalise on this about-face, the source said: \u201cJust wait until you see the SUV version of the Type 01. It\u2019s a brutalist critique on humankind\u2019s automotive folly intertwined with sensually expressive premium luxury for the super-mega-ultra-highest-net-worth consumer.<\/p>\n
