\n\tThe Osbourne family has partnered with digital human tech company Hyperreal to create an Ozzy avatar with the ability to \u201chave conversations with fans and move, speak, and respond as Ozzy would,\u201d according to Hyperreal. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of scary how it\u2019s really very accurate,\u201d Jack said at the event. \u201cHe will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThe Ozzy avatar will begin appearing in life-sized, interactive touchscreens in the U.S. and U.K. beginning in late summer 2026, Hyperreal told Billboard<\/em>.<\/p>\n \n\tNews of Ozzy\u2019s return as an AI-powered avatar sparked backlash online, with some fans criticizing the concept as disrespectful or overly commercial. The iconic Black Sabbath frontman passed away in July 2025 at the age of 76.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cPoor dude\u2019s soul was literally floating away but was quickly lassoed by Sharon and then yanked back down to earth, where he\u2019ll be on digital life support and forced to continue dancing for every sad soul who wants to ask him a question\u2026except it\u2019s not even him,\u201d one user wrote on X.<\/p>\n \n\tAnother added, \u201cWow! A year hasn\u2019t even passed since Ozzy\u2019s passing and they are already trying to commercialize and profit from his memory.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cCan\u2019t just let his legacy speak for itself, this would be f\u2014kin disgraceful,\u201d a third skeptic commented.<\/p>\n \n\tBut Jack pushed back against the criticism during a YouTube livestream. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cHere\u2019s the thing, it\u2019s gonna be so tasteful what we\u2019re doing. It\u2019s not gonna be f\u2014king lame,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s really complex what we\u2019re doing. This isn\u2019t just like hooking up an image of my dad to ChatGPT. This is some high-level technology that we\u2019re gonna be working with, and it\u2019s gonna feel very real, and it\u2019s kind of wild how it will be utilized.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tJack also said the idea had been discussed with his father before his death. <\/p>\n \n\t\u201cIt\u2019s really cool, and it\u2019s something that I think my dad would be into,\u201d he said. \u201cWe actually talked about it before he passed, about doing something like this. So, yeah.
