When you win a playoff series, everybody is celebrating at the end of the game, so they\u2019re going to be smiling, while I\u2019m pissed off that we just lost.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t want to dap them up at all, but then what would they be saying about me? It would have been a whole other conversation. I gave them the respect they deserve. I could\u2019ve waited until the end of the game, that\u2019s some people\u2019s perspective, but I did what I did. That\u2019s why I\u2019m me and y\u2019all are whoever y\u2019all are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edwards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7283780\/2026\/05\/16\/anthony-edwards-nba-on-prime-analysts-timberwolves-spurs\/\">walked to the Spurs bench<\/a> with 8:01 remaining in the fourth quarter and shook hands with the coaching staff and players, one by one, which is something players typically do toward the end of a game. The exchange caught the attention of the analysts on the \u201cNBA on Prime\u201d postgame show, which includes former NBA stars Dirk Nowitzki, Blake Griffin, Udonis Haslem and Steve Nash, and host Taylor Rooks. Nowitzki, Griffin and Haslem didn\u2019t agree with the move.<\/p>\n<p id=\"article-pickem\">\n<p>In the YouTube video, Edwards shared commentary on each of the six games leading up to Minnesota\u2019s playoff exit, including his opinion on the Spurs without Victor Wembanyama and the discussion around the Frenchman potentially being suspended after his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7269137\/2026\/05\/10\/victor-wembanyama-ejected-spurs-timberwolves-flagrant-2\/\">ejection for elbowing<\/a> Naz Reid. Edwards said it was \u201cperfect\u201d that Wembanyama was ejected from Game 4, especially offensively, but said there were defensive challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt made it hard on us because now everybody (on the Spurs) was playing free,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cThey play egoless basketball anyway, but they made it a little tougher. He believes Minnesota and San Antonio could potentially become a rivalry, and claims this isn\u2019t the end yet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHell yeah,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cI tip my cap to them. They came out and balled. \u2026 But we\u2019ll be back.
