She\u2019s full of surprises this year! Firstly, she pronounced the dancefloor dead and said she\u2019d be making \u201crock music\u201d from now on. Then, we all realised we\u2019d been trolled when she dropped the lead single, literally called \u201crock music\u201d, earlier this month.\u00a0 Now, she\u2019s back on our feeds, this time taking a detour into the world of fashion with her new release, \u201cSS26\u201d. The track takes its name from the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/ss26\"><span>Spring Summer 2026<\/span><\/a><span> fashion shows that she was dashing between last October, while writing her upcoming album. Of course, she recreated a runway for the video \u2013 complete with an invite, industry guests and luxury clothes. And so, in the spirit of \u201cSS26\u201d and how we\u2019d cover any other fashion show here at Dazed: here\u2019s everything you missed from Charli xcx\u2019s SS26 presentation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>THE INVITE\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Two days ago, Charli dropped the invite on her finsta @b.sides (formerly known as @360_brat). Following the same format as most other show invites, it was simple, elegant and spelt out the necessary information, inviting guests to attend the \u201cpresentation of Charli xcx SS26, directed by Torso\u201d. Some of us jumped to the obvious conclusion: Charli is staging a show and launching her own fashion brand. Sadly not, we\u2019re yet to see the artist become creative director of her own luxury label \u2013 but she did deliver on the show part.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>THE GUESTS <\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"30b179ca-d74c-4bf3-aae3-b45200d2d724\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/2000\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1440\/5\/1445732.png\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"landscape\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"1.52\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"landscape\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Charli xcx &quot;SS26&quot; video\" class=\"img\" height=\"1750\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1440\/5\/1445732.png\" width=\"2664\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Charli xcx <span class=\"nowrap\">&#8220;SS26&#8221; video<\/span><\/span><span class=\"credit\">YouTube<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Sitting on the front row were all the usual subjects. Fashion industry heavyweights such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/carine-roitfeld\"><span>Carine Roitfeld<\/span><\/a><span>, former editor-in-chief of <\/span><em><span>Vogue Paris<\/span><\/em><span> and current editor of <\/span><em><span>CR Fashion Book<\/span><\/em><span>. Next to her was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/anthony-vaccarello\"><span>Anthony Vaccarello,<\/span><\/a><span> creative director of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/saint-laurent\"><span>Saint Laurent<\/span><\/a><span>. The only model walking the show was Charli herself; meanwhile, legendary supermodel Debra Shaw sat in the audience. Fashion influencer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/lyas\"><span>Lyas<\/span><\/a><span> was there, alongside fellow commentator Lo\u00efc Prigent. Meanwhile, the most famous man in the show soundtrack business, Michel Gaubert, was also present. Even the design duo behind buzzy label <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69190\/1\/august-barron-bror-vestbo-benjamin-interview-dazed-cover-winter-2025\"><span>August Barron<\/span><\/a><span>, Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestb\u00f8, couldn\u2019t resist a Charli xcx runway show. And how could we forget, fashion shows are only made possible by the powerhouse PRs that run them like a well-oiled machine. Charli tapped not one, but two leading men from the world of PR: David Siwicki and Lucien Pag\u00e8s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>THE CLOTHES\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Rather than debuting her own label, Charli gave us a tour of her favourite designers \u2013 both established and emerging. As she strutted down the catwalk, she wore a mixture of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/ann-demeulemeester\"><span>Ann Demeulemeester<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/balmain\"><span>Balmain<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/saint-laurent\"><span>Saint Laurent<\/span><\/a><span>, Lou De B\u00e8toly and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/chrome-hearts\"><span>Chrome Hearts<\/span><\/a><span>, to name a few. Surprisingly, the clothes were not all from the SS26 season, but largely from the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/aw26\"><span>AW26 shows<\/span><\/a><span> that took place in March this year. Naturally, there were multiple Saint Laurent moments \u2013 after all, Charli is a brand ambassador, and Vaccarello was sitting front row.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>THE REFERENCES<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"src-youtube video-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-youtube\" data-id=\"yGDIK-w6npc\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen frameborder height=\"422\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yGDIK-w6npc\" webkitallowfullscreen width=\"750\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>The show set up was reminiscent of the 90s, when the runway was often slightly elevated, and the models\u2019 path was lit with stark, white light. The most obvious example of this is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tom-ford\"><span>Tom Ford\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span> Gucci shows, which often featured one beam of light and models entering onto a white backdrop \u2013 recreated by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/demna-gvasalia\"><span>Demna<\/span><\/a><span> during his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69774\/1\/gucci-aw26-fw26-demna-gvasalia-debut-milan-fashion-week-mfw-fakemink-kate-moss\"><span>Gucci debut<\/span><\/a><span> in February. Towards the start of the show, one version of Charli (wearing a white Lou De B\u00e8toly look) bashed into another version of Charli (wearing a black Chrome Hearts two-piece), creating drama on the runway just like Amber Valletta and Shalow Harlow at Todd Oldham in 1995.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Later in the show, one of the many versions of Charli pulled out a cigarette \u2013 joining the likes of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/kate-moss\"><span>Kate Moss<\/span><\/a><span>, Linda Evangelista, Edie Campbell and Cara Delevingne, who have all lit up on the catwalk. The most obvious reference was when she fell over in towering platform heels, recreating the famous moment when Naomi Campbell tumbled to the ground during <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/vivienne-westwood\"><span>Vivienne Westwood\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span> AW93 show, or, when Carrie comes crashing down mid-walk in <\/span><em><span>Sex and the City. <\/span><\/em><span>Like Charli, Carrie simply lies on the runway, unable to move, while other models walk around her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>\u00a0A FEW WORDS FROM CHARLI\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>As with any other runway, the show notes landed in our inboxes first thing this morning, listing all the credits. Unfortunately, there was no press release. However, Charli did post a statement on @b.sides. \u201cWent back to Paris last week to shoot the SS26 video with Torso,\u201d she writes. \u201cLanded at Charles de Gaulle and immediately had flashbacks of running around on the tarmac with them shooting the Von Dutch video in December 23. This time I didn\u2019t have to balance on the wing of a plane, but I did have to balance in platform heels, which was honestly fabulous and equally hard. She\u2019s full of surprises this year! Firstly, she pronounced the dancefloor dead and said she\u2019d be making \u201crock music\u201d from now on. Then, we all realised we\u2019d been trolled when she dropped the lead single, literally called \u201crock music\u201d, earlier this month.\u00a0 Now, she\u2019s back on our feeds, this time taking a detour into the world of fashion with her new release, \u201cSS26\u201d. The track takes its name from the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/ss26\"><span>Spring Summer 2026<\/span><\/a><span> fashion shows that she was dashing between last October, while writing her upcoming album. Of course, she recreated a runway for the video \u2013 complete with an invite, industry guests and luxury clothes. And so, in the spirit of \u201cSS26\u201d and how we\u2019d cover any other fashion show here at Dazed: here\u2019s everything you missed from Charli xcx\u2019s SS26 presentation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>THE INVITE\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Two days ago, Charli dropped the invite on her finsta @b.sides (formerly known as @360_brat). Following the same format as most other show invites, it was simple, elegant and spelt out the necessary information, inviting guests to attend the \u201cpresentation of Charli xcx SS26, directed by Torso\u201d. Some of us jumped to the obvious conclusion: Charli is staging a show and launching her own fashion brand. Fashion industry heavyweights such as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/carine-roitfeld\"><span>Carine Roitfeld<\/span><\/a><span>, former editor-in-chief of <\/span><em><span>Vogue Paris<\/span><\/em><span> and current editor of <\/span><em><span>CR Fashion Book<\/span><\/em><span>. Next to her was <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/anthony-vaccarello\"><span>Anthony Vaccarello,<\/span><\/a><span> creative director of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/saint-laurent\"><span>Saint Laurent<\/span><\/a><span>. The only model walking the show was Charli herself; meanwhile, legendary supermodel Debra Shaw sat in the audience. Fashion influencer <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/lyas\"><span>Lyas<\/span><\/a><span> was there, alongside fellow commentator Lo\u00efc Prigent. Meanwhile, the most famous man in the show soundtrack business, Michel Gaubert, was also present. Even the design duo behind buzzy label <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69190\/1\/august-barron-bror-vestbo-benjamin-interview-dazed-cover-winter-2025\"><span>August Barron<\/span><\/a><span>, Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestb\u00f8, couldn\u2019t resist a Charli xcx runway show. And how could we forget, fashion shows are only made possible by the powerhouse PRs that run them like a well-oiled machine. Charli tapped not one, but two leading men from the world of PR: David Siwicki and Lucien Pag\u00e8s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>THE CLOTHES\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>Rather than debuting her own label, Charli gave us a tour of her favourite designers \u2013 both established and emerging. As she strutted down the catwalk, she wore a mixture of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/ann-demeulemeester\"><span>Ann Demeulemeester<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/balmain\"><span>Balmain<\/span><\/a><span>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/saint-laurent\"><span>Saint Laurent<\/span><\/a><span>, Lou De B\u00e8toly and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/chrome-hearts\"><span>Chrome Hearts<\/span><\/a><span>, to name a few. Surprisingly, the clothes were not all from the SS26 season, but largely from the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/aw26\"><span>AW26 shows<\/span><\/a><span> that took place in March this year. Naturally, there were multiple Saint Laurent moments \u2013 after all, Charli is a brand ambassador, and Vaccarello was sitting front row.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>THE REFERENCES<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"src-youtube video-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-youtube\" data-id=\"yGDIK-w6npc\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen frameborder height=\"422\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yGDIK-w6npc\" webkitallowfullscreen width=\"750\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>The show set up was reminiscent of the 90s, when the runway was often slightly elevated, and the models\u2019 path was lit with stark, white light. The most obvious example of this is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tom-ford\"><span>Tom Ford\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span> Gucci shows, which often featured one beam of light and models entering onto a white backdrop \u2013 recreated by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/demna-gvasalia\"><span>Demna<\/span><\/a><span> during his <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69774\/1\/gucci-aw26-fw26-demna-gvasalia-debut-milan-fashion-week-mfw-fakemink-kate-moss\"><span>Gucci debut<\/span><\/a><span> in February. Towards the start of the show, one version of Charli (wearing a white Lou De B\u00e8toly look) bashed into another version of Charli (wearing a black Chrome Hearts two-piece), creating drama on the runway just like Amber Valletta and Shalow Harlow at Todd Oldham in 1995.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Later in the show, one of the many versions of Charli pulled out a cigarette \u2013 joining the likes of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/kate-moss\"><span>Kate Moss<\/span><\/a><span>, Linda Evangelista, Edie Campbell and Cara Delevingne, who have all lit up on the catwalk. The most obvious reference was when she fell over in towering platform heels, recreating the famous moment when Naomi Campbell tumbled to the ground during <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/vivienne-westwood\"><span>Vivienne Westwood\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span> AW93 show, or, when Carrie comes crashing down mid-walk in <\/span><em><span>Sex and the City. <\/span><\/em><span>Like Charli, Carrie simply lies on the runway, unable to move, while other models walk around her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h1><span>\u00a0A FEW WORDS FROM CHARLI\u00a0<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"instagram-container embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"media-instagram\" data-script-depends=\"instagram-embeds\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>As with any other runway, the show notes landed in our inboxes first thing this morning, listing all the credits. Unfortunately, there was no press release. However, Charli did post a statement on @b.sides. \u201cWent back to Paris last week to shoot the SS26 video with Torso,\u201d she writes. \u201cLanded at Charles de Gaulle and immediately had flashbacks of running around on the tarmac with them shooting the Von Dutch video in December 23. This time I didn\u2019t have to balance on the wing of a plane, but I did have to balance in platform heels, which was honestly fabulous and equally hard.
