With a Keith Haring collaboration and Chlo\u00eb Sevigny in the front row, there was no doubt that Louis Vuitton\u2019s SS27 Cruise show had officially landed in the Big Apple. Staged at The Frick Collection, Nicolas Ghesqui\u00e8re presented a spectacle of voluminous ruffled gowns and futuristic mini dresses that captured the city\u2019s duality, its downtown effortless casualness and uptown opulence. The opening look featured an original Keith Haring suitcase dating back to the 1930s, as other garments served as canvases for the late artist\u2019s prints, including an impeccable hand printed leather jacket.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inspired by the ongoing dialogue between Paris and New York, the collection explored the tension between past and future, pop culture and savoir-faire, and classic American fashion codes, in the signature nonconformist style of Nicholas Ghesquiere, with American artist Alana Haim debuting on the runway. From Louis Vuitton monogram boxing gloves to vinyl record-shaped clutches, the collectible bags, naturally, stole the show.<\/p>\n
