The British Fashion Council announces today the 2026\/27 recipients of the BFC NEWGEN, a prize that has identified and supported emerging fashion talent since 1993, and whose programme has helped launch and champion the careers of designers and brands including Jonathan Anderson, Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane and Grace Wales Bonner. The initiative offers selected designers financial support, mentorship and a place on the London Fashion Week calendar.<\/p>\n

Among the recipients returning to the LFW schedule as part of NEWGEN this season, selected by Sarah Mower MBE, Laura Weir and a cohort of industry professional panelists, are E.w.usie<\/a>, the womenswear label founded by Joshua Ewusie that explores the communities shaped by the diaspora; Johanna Parv<\/a> whose sublime technical womenswear is described by the designer herself as \u201cengineered formalwear\u201d; and Oscar Ouyang, the Beijing-born designer known for his gender-neutral knitwear. Also returning are A Letter<\/a>, Charlie Constantinou<\/a>, Karoline Vitto<\/a>, Liza Keane<\/a>, Lueder<\/a>, Octi<\/a>, Pauline Dujancourt<\/a>, Steve O Smith<\/a>, The Ouze<\/a> and Yaku.<\/a><\/p>\n

Francesca Lake, a graduate from Central Saint Martins, is a multidisciplinary artist from Kingston, Jamaica, whose focus is to celebrate the untapped stories of her culture and amplify them on a global scale.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gui Rosa\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gui Rosa learned to knit from a grandmother while growing up in Lisbon, Portugal, but it was only after moving to London to study Fashion Print at Central Saint Martins that the designer\u2019s signature style truly flourished. Known for playful knitted pieces and spiky hats, Rosa\u2019s work has also led to a collaborative project with Gucci.<\/p>\n

Swedish designer, and 2026 LVMH prize nominee, Petra Fagerst\u00f6rm is known for her signature lenticular pleating that works as an optical illusion when the wearer moves, and her sensibility for a mix of the digital and handmade, already a favourite in the LFW calendar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
