Carlos Alcaraz\u2019s detractors following the Spaniard\u2019s withdrawal from this year\u2019s Wimbledon.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-time major winner sustained an injury to his right wrist during his first-round win at the Barcelona Open against Otto Virtanen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\">Alcaraz<\/a> withdrew from the tournament in mid-April following medical tests and the 23-year-old has not played since.<\/p>\n<p>The world No 2 won\u2019t be able to defend his titles at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/french-open\">French Open<\/a> and Queen\u2019s, and Alcaraz won\u2019t be at SW19 for his third <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/wimbledon\">Wimbledon<\/a> title bid either.<\/p>\n<p>Following the news, he wrote on X, \u201cMy recovery is going well, and I feel much better, but unfortunately, I\u2019m still not ready to be able to play, and that\u2019s why I have to withdraw from the grass-court swing at Queen\u2019s and<span> Wimbledon<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Carlos Alcaraz News<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/carlos-alcaraz-withdraws-two-more-events-injury\">Carlos Alcaraz withdraws from two more tennis events due to injury<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a out on after injury blow?<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When Alcaraz withdrew from The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, Trofeo Conde de Godo, a minority criticised him on social media as it was so early in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>And it seems former world No 2 Corretja has not forgotten what the vitriol his naysayers spewed at the time.<\/p>\n<p>His first tweet on the Alcaraz news read, \u201cThe wait is getting long, heavy, and very sad. But the important thing is to recover well and come back when possible. CHEER UP, CARLITOS.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a follow-up, the former French Open finalist made a sarcastic comment against Alcaraz\u2019s critics and called out their \u201cignorance\u201d and \u201cbad faith\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He tweeted: \u201c<span>Thank goodness Alcaraz pulled out of the God\u00f3 (Barcelona Open) because he didn\u2019t care about the tournament and wanted to save energy for the rest of the clay and grass tour! What a shame, so much ignorance, and worse, so much bad faith from a lot of people. #Ijusthadtosaythat.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Following Alcaraz\u2019s news, thousands of well-wishers took to social media to send their regards.<\/p>\n<p>Former Miami Open winner Jakub Mensik commented on the two-time Wimbledon champion\u2019s Instagram post, \u201cCarlos! All the best! Be strong,\u201d while Madrid Open champion\u00a0Marta Kostyuk wished him a \u201cspeedy recovery\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>It remains to be seen when Alcaraz will return to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/atp-tour\">ATP Tour<\/a>.
