Singer Tom Grennan and Manchester indie band Courteeners have donated VIP tickets for summer shows in support of a brain tumour charity, in memory of a Coventry father. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dad-of-one Adam “Keano” Keane died in July 2024 shortly after his 38th birthday, after going through “multiple surgeries and extensive bouts of chemotherapy”. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A community of family, friends and musicians are helping to raise money for the charity which helped him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Music was “a love of his life,” said friend Ciar\u00e1n Corkerry, “so it makes sense for music to be the way in which we remember him and share his memories, and also raise money for a worthy cause as well.” <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Diagnosed in 2020, his friend had three major brain surgeries and countless rounds of radiotherapy, said Corkerry. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“Though it all he managed to keep his spirits up and still had that bubbly personality, and tried to spend time with his young son right up to the end,” he said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Corkerry and members of former Coventry band Reverb, launched the “For Keano” campaign, which has raised more than \u00a35,000 through music and other events for The Brain Tumour Charity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Tickets donated to any Tom Grennan summer show and the Courteeners’ sold-out homecoming show in Wythenshaw Park would be raffled as part of the campaign. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The music community had rallied to help the cause, Corkerry explained. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“It was just a case of picking the phone up and people are always willing to help, especially with a personality like Adam, who touched so many,” he said. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“He was such a character, so straight away the minute you say it’s for him, people are like, ‘what do you need?’ which is a really brilliant thing.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“We’re massively grateful to Tom Grennan, [his manager] John Dawkins, as well as Liam Fray and Courteeners for these donations,” he added. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“The raffles might sell 20 tickets, it might sell 2,000; but it will all be added into the other fundraisers and efforts in Keano’s name to raise money for a great cause.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
