Find out\u00a0below.<\/p>\n<p>The black comedy film was released in UK cinemas on Friday (May 15), a week after its US release, the latest feature from the acclaimed and prolific Soderbergh \u2013 best known for <i>Ocean\u2019s Eleven<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Magic Mike<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Traffic<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Contagion<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Erin Brockovich\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>Sex, Lies And Videotape<\/i>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><i>The Christophers\u00a0<\/i>stars\u00a0Ian McKellen as the elderly and eccentric painter Julian Sklar, who is known for his series of paintings called \u2018The Christophers\u2019. With his fame fading, his children hire a forger \u2013 played by Michaela Coel \u2013 to complete the unfinished paintings in the series so that they will have an inheritance when he dies.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the trailer here:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The film has been written by Ed Solomon, who previously worked with Soderbergh on No Sudden Move, and is best known for his work on\u00a0<i>Bill &amp; Ted\u2019s Excellent Adventure<\/i>, <i>Men In Black <\/i>and\u00a0<i>Now You See Me<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>James Corden and\u00a0<i>Baby Reindeer<\/i>\u2019s Jessica Gunning star as the children of McKellen\u2019s character, and it was filmed in Camden and Fitzrovia in early 2025.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad1 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"taboola-mid-article-title\">Recommended<\/h5>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The film has been well received by critics, currently sitting on a 95 per cent rating on review aggregator\u00a0<i>Rotten Tomatoes<\/i>. The site\u2019s consensus reads: \u201cA sly caper carried off with director Steven Soderbergh\u2019s characteristic panache,\u00a0<i>The Christophers\u00a0<\/i>is a superb two-hander featuring Ian McKellen and Michaele Coel at their very best.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Every song on\u00a0<i>The Christophers\u00a0<\/i>soundtrack<\/h2>\n<p>The film includes an original score from the celebrated Northern Irish composer and musician David Holmes, who made his name making trip-hop and big beat records in the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>Holmes and Soderbergh are long-time collaborators, dating back to 1998\u2019s\u00a0<i>Out\u00a0Of\u00a0Sight<\/i>. Find out\u00a0below.<\/p>\n<p>The black comedy film was released in UK cinemas on Friday (May 15), a week after its US release, the latest feature from the acclaimed and prolific Soderbergh \u2013 best known for <i>Ocean\u2019s Eleven<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Magic Mike<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Traffic<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Contagion<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Erin Brockovich\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>Sex, Lies And Videotape<\/i>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><i>The Christophers\u00a0<\/i>stars\u00a0Ian McKellen as the elderly and eccentric painter Julian Sklar, who is known for his series of paintings called \u2018The Christophers\u2019. With his fame fading, his children hire a forger \u2013 played by Michaela Coel \u2013 to complete the unfinished paintings in the series so that they will have an inheritance when he dies.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the trailer here:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The film has been written by Ed Solomon, who previously worked with Soderbergh on No Sudden Move, and is best known for his work on\u00a0<i>Bill &amp; Ted\u2019s Excellent Adventure<\/i>, <i>Men In Black <\/i>and\u00a0<i>Now You See Me<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>James Corden and\u00a0<i>Baby Reindeer<\/i>\u2019s Jessica Gunning star as the children of McKellen\u2019s character, and it was filmed in Camden and Fitzrovia in early 2025.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad1 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"taboola-mid-article-title\">Recommended<\/h5>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The film has been well received by critics, currently sitting on a 95 per cent rating on review aggregator\u00a0<i>Rotten Tomatoes<\/i>. The site\u2019s consensus reads: \u201cA sly caper carried off with director Steven Soderbergh\u2019s characteristic panache,\u00a0<i>The Christophers\u00a0<\/i>is a superb two-hander featuring Ian McKellen and Michaele Coel at their very best.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Every song on\u00a0<i>The Christophers\u00a0<\/i>soundtrack<\/h2>\n<p>The film includes an original score from the celebrated Northern Irish composer and musician David Holmes, who made his name making trip-hop and big beat records in the 1990s.<\/p>\n<p>Holmes and Soderbergh are long-time collaborators, dating back to 1998\u2019s\u00a0<i>Out\u00a0Of\u00a0Sight<\/i>.
