Ministerul Transporturilor l-a preluat pentru ca Primaria Turnu Magurele nu are cum sa realizeze un proiect asa de mare. Programul TEN-T al UE, reteaua transeuropeana de transport, prevede crearea unei retele complete de transport auto, feroviar si naval. Portul trebuie sa fie dotat\u00a0 cu macarale si tot ce ajuta la transbordarea marfurilor, reabilitata si calea ferata din Port pana la oras.
