He pleaded no contest to felony charges, was sentenced to jail time and probation, and was hit with a five-year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2020\/07\/15\/hayden-panettiere-out-of-state-restraining-order-boyfriend-brian-hickerson\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\"><strong>restraining order<\/strong><\/a> requiring him to stay away from her.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"cb-a926ae4b70767e038ee456d981a236c6\" class=\"canvas-block canvas-block-permalink canvas-text-block canvas-text-block-permalink canvas-text-block--default  \" data-context='{\"section\":\"permalink\",\"name\":\"text_block\"}'>\n<p>Brian also pushed the conversation beyond survivors &#8230; saying people accused of abuse should also be forced to confront these stories head-on.
