In addition to starring in <em>Scream 5<\/em> and <em>Scream 6<\/em>, she was also in <em>Abigail<\/em> and <em>Your Monster<\/em>. So it makes a lot of sense that her big-screen career is restarting with another scary tale.<\/p>\n<p>As Variety reports, Barrera will play the main character in <em>Inhabit<\/em>, from writer-director Adam Alleca <em>(Cell, Last House on the Left)<\/em>. The movie \u201cfollows a young woman who, following a traumatic, life-changing event, moves into a rundown apartment complex in search of a fresh start. When she\u2019s terrorized by bizarre occurrences\u2014unhinged neighbors, uncanny stalkers, unprovoked violence\u2014she comes to believe she\u2019s being targeted by a possessive force that breaks her understanding of reality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Alleca told the trade his inspirations include <em>Rosemary\u2019s Baby<\/em>, <em>The Exorcist<\/em>, and <em>Get Out<\/em>, and he teased that the film will force audiences to \u201cconfront a universal existential fear no one\u2019s ever dared to tell a story about before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barrera hasn\u2019t exactly been sitting around since the <em>Scream 7<\/em> controversy; she\u2019s currently starring on Broadway in the Tony-nominated musical comedy <em>Titanique<\/em>.
