Now, it is finally almost here. The last Friday the 13th film was released in 2009, but complicated rights issues have created a bottleneck when it comes to developing new films. However, it seems things have gotten worked out as there is <a class=\"link jsx-1337145738 jsx-3925284146 underlined\" data-cy=\"styled-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/new-friday-the-13th-prequel-movie-and-video-game-are-on-the-way-theyre-both-in-the-works-and-theyre-both-coming\">a new Friday the 13th film in the works<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Additionally, an online Friday the 13th video game was released in 2017. Unfortunately, rights issues led to the game&#8217;s eventual shutdown, which frustrated the loyal fanbase of the game. A new game is in development <a class=\"link jsx-1337145738 jsx-3925284146 underlined\" data-cy=\"styled-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/sdcc-2025s-jason-universe-panel-will-be-filled-with-exclusive-first-looks-giveaways-and-more\">as part of the &#8220;Jason Universe,&#8221; <\/a>an initiative to create new Friday the 13th projects.
