\/><strong>\u25ba<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>Revealed in Japan<br \/><strong>\u25ba<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>Kicks off \u2018new-look\u2019 Lexus brand positioning<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Welcome to the next chapter of Lexus. This is the new TZ SUV, a new three-row electric family car that promises to propel the brand from sleepy luxury into a new, innovative and premium space. Featuring a \u2018Driving Lounge,\u2019 concept among other flourishes, the TZ is one of the first cars to convey Lexus\u2019s new direction: \u2018Discover,\u2019 and \u2018imitate no one.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Lexus\u2019 new path was illustrated with a host of wacky concept cars at the 2025 Japan Mobility show, and the TZ draws a pinch of inspiration from all of them. Measuring\u00a05100mm with a 3050mm wheelbase, it\u2019s large and slightly bigger than the RX. That\u2019s 4890mm long with a 2850mm wheelbase. The result? The brand\u2019s spindle grille remains, but it\u2019s now more of an outline than an ornate mesh. The result is a front-end that that looks both meaner, more brutish and more ready for adventure. Look at some of these images and it\u2019s clear that the \u2018outdoor premium\u2019 look is what the designers are going for.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"mpu-inject hide-for-medium-up\">\n<div class=\"mpu-ad advert\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/car-images.bauersecure.com\/wp-images\/262080\/480x0\/lexus-tz-web-6.jpg?scale=down\" alt class=\"wp-image-262089\" data-interchange=\"[https:\/\/car-images.bauersecure.com\/wp-images\/262080\/480x0\/lexus-tz-web-6.jpg?scale=down, (default)], [https:\/\/car-images.bauersecure.com\/wp-images\/262080\/720x0\/lexus-tz-web-6.jpg?scale=down, (medium)], [https:\/\/car-images.bauersecure.com\/wp-images\/262080\/1040x0\/lexus-tz-web-6.jpg?scale=down, (large)]\"><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The SUV employs sharp lines throughout its exterior design, and Lexus says that its \u2018Provocative Simplicity\u2019 has other benefits too: the TZ has a slippery drag coefficient of just\u00a00.27 which is decent for a larger SUV.\u00a0\u00a0Alongside the crisp styling, it achieves this using nifty details such as semi-flush door handles and aero wheels which can be had from 20- to 22-inches in diameter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Colour options will include single and dual tone finishes, but the military, khaki green you see here could be the best. Interestingly, it uses the brand\u2019s sonic paint technology for a richer, more 3D finish.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"mpu-inject show-for-medium-up hide-for-xlarge-up\">\n<div class=\"mpu-ad advert\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interior\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>Inside there\u2019s room for six seats, with the entire cabin summed up by Lexus\u2019 new \u2018Driving Lounge\u2019 concept. In short, that means more room for each passenger, a panoramic roof stretching over everybody and a mixture of recycled and aluminium and bamboo throughout.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"mpu-inject hide-for-medium-up\">\n<div class=\"mpu-ad advert\"><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The interior benefits from the inherent pros of a BEV skateboard, so the second row gets captain\u2019s chairs while the third gains increased headroom.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/car-images.bauersecure.com\/wp-images\/262080\/480x0\/lexus-tz-web-3.jpg?scale=down\" alt class=\"wp-image-262086\" data-interchange=\"[https:\/\/car-images.bauersecure.com\/wp-images\/262080\/480x0\/lexus-tz-web-3.jpg?scale=down, (default)], [https:\/\/car-images.bauersecure.com\/wp-images\/262080\/720x0\/lexus-tz-web-3.jpg?scale=down, (medium)], [https:\/\/car-images.bauersecure.com\/wp-images\/262080\/1040x0\/lexus-tz-web-3.jpg?scale=down, (large)]\"><\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>This \u2018Zen-like tranquillity\u2019 extends to a rear comfort mode, which adjusts the driving modes to maximise comfort for those in the second row, but it\u2019s also evident in the UI, too. As you\u2019d expect from a car in 2026, the interior is packed with technology, but the instrument panels are clean and uncluttered, with many switches hidden until they\u2019re needed. Like many other cars, the driver\u2019s screen can display things such as navigation for ease.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What about the specs?\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>The TZ uses a 95.8kWh lithium-ion battery to power Lexus eAxles front and rear. That\u2019s\u2019 good for up to 330-miles (WLTP) per charge depending on the model you go for, and up to 402bhp of combined power. It\u2019s the same system that\u2019ll be used in the upcoming ES BEV. 0-62mph will take just 5.4 seconds, despite the TZ tipping 2630kg on the scales.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A 76.69kWh battery will also be available, though Lexus expects the mix in Europe will strongly favour the larger unit.
