Audi may have told us not to call it a TT, but last year\u2019s Concept C<\/a> gave us a glimpse into the future of its little two-door sportscar. And of course, that future is electric.<\/p>\n

But what if you\u2019re not ready to move on? What if you\u2019re still smitten with the original TT\u2019s reductionist, Bauhaus-inspired design? Well, Dutch firm Autoforma might now have the answer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This is the Audi TTS Restomod, and we\u2019re told that it brings \u201cthe purity and geometric clarity of the original TT concept into a contemporary, highly detailed execution\u201d.<\/p>\n

And yes, the TT coupe concept and the TTS roadster that this car apes were both revealed within a couple of months of each other way back in 1995, so they\u2019re definitely restomod-ready. We are just that old, people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Anyway, to create its tribute to the roofless show car, Autoforma redesigned the front grille and reintroduced the concept\u2019s vent just behind its front wheels. This apparently meant the windscreen washer reservoir had to be moved to the boot. A new side intake was also cut into the side sill, while the rear bumper was smoothed out and \u2013 perhaps most notably \u2013 the rear spoiler removed.<\/p>\n

The fabric roof was whipped out and a composite cover designed and erm\u2026 not fitted for these photos. Still, that does mean we get a better look at the brilliant baseball leather interior. There are also new mirrors stuck directly to the glass, slightly lowered suspension, a wider track and pearl effect grey paint up top with a matte grey lower section.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Like it? Unfortunately, Autoforma \u2013 which is an offshoot of Niels van Roij Design \u2013 does also mention this TTS will be a one-off built for Dutch designer Jos Baijens. D\u2019oh! Heck, even the boss of the company isn\u2019t getting one. That standard silver car in the images above is there to show off the mods to Baijens\u2019 car, but it also happens to be Niels van Roij\u2019s own original TT.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
