It will expose the weak.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Stage 10: Time trial sentence<\/h2>\n<p>In 2026, there is only one time trial, but it could prove a race-breaker.<\/p>\n<p>Long at 42km and dead flat along the Mediterranean coast from Viareggio to Massa, stage 10 could shape this Giro perhaps more than any mountain summit.<\/p>\n<p>Vingegaard should crush everyone on this one, both for the stage win and to take control of the pink jersey, perhaps for good.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone is expecting Visma-Lease a Bike to try to take control early, and after Blockhaus, this is the most decisive stage in the first half of the Giro.<\/p>\n<p>Vingo can take seconds per kilometer against the likes of Egan Bernal and Ben O\u2019Connor, and potentially turn this Giro into a race for the podium.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder-wrapper relative w-full border-t border-b border-border-light col-span-full my-3 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2\">\n<div class=\"mb-[30px] min-h-[30px] text-center\"><span class=\"font-utility-4 font-medium tracking-[1px] text-neutral-500 uppercase\">ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>4. Then comes the centerpiece at the Passo Giau \u2014 this year\u2019s Cima Coppi at 2233m \u2014 nearly 10km at 9.3 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The suffering doesn\u2019t end there. The Falzarego batters legs one last time before a long descent and the final sting in a vicious 5km summit finish to Piani di Pezz\u00e8, \u201conly\u201d a second-category, but averaging 10 percent with 15 percent ramps.<\/p>\n<p>This is a true Giro <em>tappone<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>6.
