On the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ebay.com\/sch\/i.html?_nkw=steam+controller&amp;_sacat=0&amp;_from=R40&amp;_sop=10&amp;mkcid=1&amp;mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&amp;campid=5337827784&amp;customid=pcg-gb-9247819996791236573&amp;rt=nc&amp;LH_Sold=1\">US side it is worse<\/a>, and sales have been made at $300. For reference, Valve was selling the controller for $99 across the pond.<\/p>\n<p>The Steam Controller was initially announced last year alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/steam-machine-everything-we-know-about-valves-new-console\">the Steam Machine<\/a>, a console which has yet to receive a release date or price. Valve has indicated the Steam Machine&#8217;s price <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/steam-machines-price-will-be-more-in-line-with-current-pc-market-valve-says\">will be more in line with the current PC market<\/a>, though given current price hikes across the consumer tech industry, this has left some anxious. The console has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/valve-admits-its-steam-machine-and-steam-frame-will-be-delayed-due-to-ram-and-storage-price-surges\">been delayed due to RAM shortages<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, head of market analysis at video game industry analysis company Alinea Analytics Rhyss Elliott told our own Connor that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/400-with-a-controller-this-would-really-send-a-message-one-analyst-on-how-valves-steam-machine-could-make-the-biggest-impact-on-the-games-industry\">price point will be a real indicator of how the Steam Machine is perceived in the market<\/a>. &#8220;If the Steam Machine launches above $500, it risks being perceived as an expensive niche PC (like the rumoured next-generation Xbox) rather than an accessible living-room gaming option,&#8221; Elliott said. &#8220;The sweet spot would be $400 with a controller.
