American cyclist Evan Boyle is serving a 16-month ban after committing three whereabouts failures within a 12-month period, USADA reported.<\/p>\n
According to USADA, Boyle recorded three failures in 2025 \u2014 on July 16, August 16, and October 2 \u2014 and triggered an anti-doping rule violation under the WADA whereabouts system.<\/p>\n
Boyle, 21, is one of the more highly touted young riders in the U.S. peloton. Last year, he powered to second place in the elite men\u2019s road race at the U.S. national championships behind Quinn Simmons.<\/p>\n
There was no public comment from Boyle.<\/p>\n
USADA said Boyle\u2019s 16-month period of ineligibility began December 8, 2025, the date he was notified that his third whereabouts failure had been confirmed.<\/p>\n
Not all U23 or junior riders are automatically part of the so-called whereabouts program, but officials confirmed that Boyle was enrolled in the USADA Registered Testing Pool.<\/p>\n
USADA did not detail the exact nature of each failure, and under World Anti-Doping Agency rules, a \u201cwhereabouts failure\u201d can be either a filing error or a missed control.<\/p>\n
What triggers a sanction is the accumulation of three failures of any kind within a 12-month period.<\/p>\n
Boyle raced the past two seasons with the development squad Hagens Berman Jayco and was set to join Team Winston Salem-Flow for 2026.<\/p>\n
He also finished runner-up in the under-23 national time trial in 2023 and started the road worlds in 2023 and 2025 with USA Cycling.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
