Italian game company Digital Bros. has bought the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers<\/u><\/a> intellectual property rights.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The parent company of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers’ publisher 505 Games, Digital Bros. purchased the IP rights from developer Chengdu Lingze Technology Co. Ltd for around $4.6 million. This secures “full ownership” of the soulslike action RPG and all future royalties.<\/p>\n

IP rights allow a person or company to patent, trademark, or copyright protect something they’ve created, even if it’s an intangible asset, like the story or a particular mechanic in a video game. From there, they can release media like books, games, TV shows, and so on, safe in the knowledge that others cannot copy or recycle them without permission.<\/p>\n
