\n\t\u201cThank you so much for sticking out the wind,\u201d the five-time Billboard Country Airplay chart-topping artist told the packed crowd of concertgoers who had braved the winds and evacuation to make it to the set. \u201cHopefully you sat in y\u2019alls cars for a bit and drank some tequila,\u201d she said, adding,\u00a0\u201cWe came to Stagecoach to have a d\u2013n good time, and that\u2019s what we gonna do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in 2022, Wilson played an early afternoon set on a tiny stage at Stagecoach, when the singer-songwriter had just earned her first hits. But Saturday night, she headlined the country music festival\u2019s biggest stage.<\/p>\n

Two-time CMA entertainer of the year winner Wilson, clad in her signature bell bottoms, commanded the stage, playing songs including the funky \u201cRing Finger\u201d and the tender \u201cGood Horses Come Home,\u201d as well as \u201cBell Bottoms Up,\u201d \u201cRoad Runner,\u201d \u201cHang Tight Honey\u201d and \u201cCountry\u2019s Cool Again.\u201d Her songs touched on love, heartbreak, betrayal, work ethic and ambition. A massive horseshoe was centered on the stage, while large cactuses dotted the perimeter of the stage, which was often drenched in warm, sunny lighting that added a cozy ambience to the evening desert vibe that night in Indio, California.<\/p>\n

\n\tHer fiddle player offered up an elegant melody of \u201cSomewhere Over The Rainbow,\u201d then Wilson launched into her lovely hit \u201cSomewhere Over Laredo.\u201d She later offered up an older song from her catalog, with the supportive, uplifting 2018 song \u201cDreamcatcher.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen the evacuation took place Saturday night, it forced singer-songwriter Riley Green\u2019s set to be nixed. But Wilson surprised the crowd by welcoming Green and Little Big Town (who had performed their own set on the Mane Stage earlier in the evening) to the stage during her own show.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cY\u2019all like Merle Haggard, right?\u201d\u00a0Wilson asked. \u201cOh, yeah!\u201d Green replied before launching into a bit of Haggard\u2019s 1980 Billboard Hot Country Songs chart-topper \u201cI Think I\u2019ll Just Stay Here and Drink,\u201d with Little Big Town lending their own superb vocals to the rendition.<\/p>\n

\u201cGood times and good country music,\u201d Wilson said, leading the audience in taking a celebratory drink. As Little Big Town and Green began to exit the stage, Wilson called Green back to center stage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know how excited all of you were to see Riley Green tonight, so I think you need to do a song,\u201d Wilson said. The crowd started chanting Green\u2019s name. With just a guitar, Green performed his 2019 hit\u00a0\u201cI Wish Grandpas Never Died.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGreen and Little Big Town weren\u2019t the only guests Wilson welcomed that evening. During her rendition of \u201cThings A Man Oughta Know,\u201d she also briefly paused to carry on a tradition her shows are known for, as she honored one young girl in the audience as \u201ccowgirl of the night.\u201d Welcoming the girl to the stage, Wilson told her that being a cowgirl isn\u2019t about boots or a hat, but \u201cabout grit, about fire, about independence, about a girl that can be wild and grounded at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe wrapped her show with two of her biggest hits, \u201c4x4xU\u201d and a song that embodies that sense of having grit and passion, \u201cHeart Like a Truck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI hope you\u2019ve had the time of your life like we have,\u201d she thanked the crowd as her set came to a close, later adding, \u201cThank you for making my dreams come true right before my very eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n
