racing director as part of a shake-up following the departure of former team principal Jonathan Wheatley.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s understood that the move could be confirmed as early as Friday, after Wheatley\u2019s exit was announced on 20 March, and it was confirmed that head of F1 project Mattia Binotto had taken over the team principal responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Binotto subsequently made it clear that the team was looking for an addition to the top management team in order to once again split the leadership role.<\/p>\n<p>Former Toyota F1 driver McNish has been connected with Audi since he first raced for the outfit in 2000.<\/p>\n<p>After a stint in F1, he was a staple of the works team from 2004 until 2013, twice winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the marque and securing the World Endurance Championship in his final season.<\/p>\n<aside>\n<div class=\"block\">\n<div class=\"mpu-block\">\n<div class=\"mpu-title\"><span>Article continues
