Not long after fixing pretty much everything that was wrong with the ID.3 hatch by unveiling the ID.3 Neo<\/a>, Volkswagen has announced another positive little update for the ID. Buzz<\/a>. Is the car world finally healing?<\/p>\n

As you may have read up above, the biggest update here is the addition of actual buttons on the steering wheel of VW\u2019s retro electric bus. Haptic nonsense, be gone! Unfortunately, the ID. Buzz update doesn\u2019t go quite as far as the ID.3 Neo and keeps its touch sensitive sliders under the central screen, but that infotainment tablet is now VW\u2019s new \u2018Innovision\u2019 system with a responsive 12.9in display and a new app store. Nice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This 2026 update also provides the Buzz with a vehicle-to-load function, meaning you can use its high voltage battery to supply 2.0kW of power to external electric devices. Think charging e-bikes or running an electric grill out in the wilderness. Mmm, sausages.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re also told that Volkswagen has now added one-pedal driving so that you can regen to a stop, while the Travel Assist system has been upgraded with traffic light recognition and a new Candy White\/Cherry Red colour combo is an option.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In some markets there will also be an updated ID. Buzz Pro with the GTX\u2019s 335bhp all-wheel drive powertrain<\/a>. That\u2019s mostly so that the towing capacity can be upped to 1,800kg for the standard wheelbase version and 1,600kg for the bigger-batteried long wheelbase. That\u2019s a 600kg increase on the RWD variants, although there\u2019s no word on whether it\u2019ll make it to the UK.<\/p>\n
