His lore runs deep, from his early lo-fi hip-hop releases under the pseudonym <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/offlicencerecords.bandcamp.com\/album\/sly-fieri-flameboy-advance-ep\"><span>Sly Fieri<\/span><\/a><span>, to his previous work with cult Brighton rap trio Nokia Mansion, but his latest releases still manage to catch us off guard. Case in point is new single \u201cthings 2 make U smile\u201d sits somewhere between Adele-style piano ballad and UK Ug distortion. We\u2019ve had all our eggs in the Canadian-born singer\u2019s basket for a while now, featuring her in both our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/dazed100\/us\">Dazed 100<\/a> and ten artists to watch lists, but Stel\u2019s latest single \u201cBitches Talk Shit\u201d (her first since signing to A24\u2019s new record label) signifies arrival. Far from these more assertive collaborations however, the new project delivers something a little more muted and complex, arriving as a mix of Jai Paul\u2019s <\/span><em><span>Leak 04-13 (Bait Ones)<\/span><\/em><span>-style organic grooves and Nujabes-esque lofi melodies. His lore runs deep, from his early lo-fi hip-hop releases under the pseudonym <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/offlicencerecords.bandcamp.com\/album\/sly-fieri-flameboy-advance-ep\"><span>Sly Fieri<\/span><\/a><span>, to his previous work with cult Brighton rap trio Nokia Mansion, but his latest releases still manage to catch us off guard. Case in point is new single \u201cthings 2 make U smile\u201d sits somewhere between Adele-style piano ballad and UK Ug distortion. We\u2019ve had all our eggs in the Canadian-born singer\u2019s basket for a while now, featuring her in both our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/dazed100\/us\">Dazed 100<\/a> and ten artists to watch lists, but Stel\u2019s latest single \u201cBitches Talk Shit\u201d (her first since signing to A24\u2019s new record label) signifies arrival. Far from these more assertive collaborations however, the new project delivers something a little more muted and complex, arriving as a mix of Jai Paul\u2019s <\/span><em><span>Leak 04-13 (Bait Ones)<\/span><\/em><span>-style organic grooves and Nujabes-esque lofi melodies.
