It\u2019s easy to sound like a bit of a broken record when talking about the UK music industry, especially the live sector. The issues that stare us in the face \u2013 lack of funding and opportunity, venues closing left right and centre \u2013 are being spoken about tritely and then rarely actually given the aid that they need to sustain and shine. Up and down the country, countless hidden gems are waiting to be uncovered, but few means of finding them. Especially if they aren\u2019t born or based in London, which remains the fulcrum to a potentially successful career in music.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So how do we fix it? Well, for starters, those with the reach and financial capabilities need to put their money where their mouth is. In Relentless Energy\u2019s case, they\u2019re taking that mantra literally. They\u2019ve just announced<\/a> their 2026 edition of \u2018Local\u2019, an initiative designed to shine a light on regional scenes through a series of events, kick-started by a homecoming show from Liverpudlian DJ quartet Girls Don\u2019t Sync. The Wonderland<\/em> favourite<\/a> four-piece will descend onto District Liverpool on 14th May, supported by house DJ Daisie Anderson, emerging spinner Adele Tondu, UKG whizz TJOS and collective Decks in the City. <\/p>\n

\u2018Local\u2019, which has now opened its door for applicants here<\/a>, will offer four music collectives from across the UK their share of a \u00a320,000 grant, a bespoke sound system rental and promotional support to aid them in putting on an event in their town or city. It\u2019s less a hunt for talent, and more a celebration and elevation of the creatives who have been \u2013 and will continue to be \u2013 trailblazing within their artistic ecosystems.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With Girls Don\u2019t Sync\u2019s show (tickets here<\/a>) to kick off a summer of top-tier events, Relentless\u2019 foray into music is once again a paramount lesson to brands and contemporaries. The talent is there \u2013 it\u2019s the support that\u2019s needed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
