\n\tThe event honoring the legendary punk club in New York\u2019s East Village that beginning in 1973 was the launching pad for the first wave of American punk acts such as the Ramones, Smith, Television, Blondie and the Talking Heads, among many others, will take place on Sept. 26 at Under the K Bridge Park in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlso on this year\u2019s bill, classic acts Bikini Kill, Agnostic Front, Buzzcocks, Circle Jerks and Haywire, as well as contemporary acts keeping the flame alive such as Upchuck, Militarie Gun, High Vis, Bad Nerves and Panic Shack. Violet Grohl, daughter of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, will take the stage to perform songs from her upcoming debut album, Be Sweet to Me<\/em> (May 29). Also slated to perform is The Return of Jackie and Judy, the Ramones tribute band featuring Sleater-Kinney and SNL<\/em> vet and drummer Fred Armisen.<\/p>\n\n\t\u201cBuilding on last year\u2019s CBGB Festival, we\u2019ve worked hard to create an even stronger experience for fans this year,\u201d said CBGB\u2019s Phil Sandhaus in a statement. \u201cFor decades, CBGB defined the punk scene and helped shape a generation of music lovers in New York and beyond. This year\u2019s lineup honors that legacy while celebrating the past, present, and future of punk and alternative music. No other festival on the East Coast offers that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tLast year\u2019s festival featured headliners Iggy Pop and Jack White, along with former Smiths guitarist and solo performer Johnny Marr, former Ramones drummer Marky Ramone, the Damned, Melvins, Gorilla Biscuits, Murphy\u2019s Law, Cro-Mags, The Linda Lindas, Lambrini Girls and more.<\/p>\n
