And yes, like with all other new Smarts, you do have to call it the \u2018Hashtag Two\u2019. Lame.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>Anyway, this concept strangely reminds us of the one-off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.topgear.com\/car-reviews\/aston-martin\/cygnet-v8\" data-entity-type=\"node\" data-entity-uuid=\"8f9437c0-2c34-4931-89f6-2336ac799adb\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\" title=\"Aston Martin Cygnet V8\">Aston Martin Cygnet V8<\/a> with its bulging bodywork and arches. Although obviously, unlike that former Toyota iQ, the new Smart is all-electric.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no word on how big the battery could be, but Smart actually reckons the Concept #2 could have 186 miles of range and DC fast charging that would handle a 10 to 80 per cent top-up in less than 20 minutes. Bit of an improvement on the final <a href=\"https:\/\/www.topgear.com\/car-reviews\/smart\/fortwo-0\" data-entity-type=\"node\" data-entity-uuid=\"f9c8672c-1543-4b00-8f6b-0d367dab3d73\" data-entity-substitution=\"canonical\" title=\"Smart Fortwo\">EQ ForTwo<\/a>\u2019s 90 miles of range.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>This concept \u2013 which is 2.79m long and gets a 6.95m turning circle \u2013 also includes vehicle-to-load capability so that you can run a hairdryer or coffee machine while zipping about town, and we\u2019re told that the whole thing is guided by the \u201coverarching design philosophy of \u2018Love, Pure, Unexpected\u2019\u201d. Right. Oh, and despite the new-age Smart being a joint venture with Geely, all of the Concept #2\u2019s design was penned by the Mercedes-Benz Global Design Team.<\/p>\n<p>We can see the two-tone matte white and gold look going down very well indeed with the Mon\u00e9gasque elite, which is where most Smarts seem to end up, after all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"HtmlContent\" class=\"MarkUpWrapper-sc-t20i90-0 hQwWlJ\">\n<p>\u201cFor me personally, it is a very special moment to present the Smart Concept #2 as the first concrete outlook on the reinvention of our iconic two-seater,\u201d said Smart Europe boss Wolfgang Ufer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Concept #2 combines the creativity and passion of our Mercedes-Benz design team and provides a clear vision of the future qualities of the Smart #2.
