In a break from fitting Mercs with 1,000bhp versions of their twin-turbo V8s, storied German tuning house Brabus has revealed\u2026 an EV.<\/p>\n

No, seriously. In fact, it has kinda revealed three EVs, because what you\u2019re looking at above is the DAB 1\u03b1 Brabus, the DAB 1\u03b1 Brabus Urban E and the DAB 1\u03b1 Brabus Urban E First Edition. And breathe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As you might have guessed, Brabus hasn\u2019t developed its own electric bike from scratch. These things have come as part of a collab with French brand DAB Motors<\/a>, with all the bikes built on the DAB 1\u237a\u2019s architecture. That means a 7.1kWh battery, a range of up to 93 miles (in \u2018urban conditions\u2019), a 31bhp motor and a top speed that\u2019s electronically limited to 75mph.<\/p>\n

Well, those are the headline stats for the entry-level DAB 1\u03b1 Brabus with its upright mirrors, black bodywork and carbon side ducts\/front fender. That costs \u20ac16,590. The Urban E gets a bit more pep, with an upgraded inverter and special motor mapping upping the power output to 36bhp, while torque jumps from 291 to 350lb ft.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Brabus also says of this bike that \u201cevery millimetre has been meticulously \u2018Brabusized\u2019\u201d. That apparently means carbon cooling ducts, rear winglets and wheel covers. On the standard version, it also means different drive modes (including one for overtaking that\u2019s called \u2018Nitrous Boost\u2019), more streamlined mirrors, lots of LED lighting and a red leather seat for a total cost of \u20ac20,800 ex VAT.<\/p>\n

Want to spend a whole lot more? The First Editions will set you back \u20ac32,500 before tax, and while four colour-drenched versions are available, just 10 of each will ever be built.
