He was chased hard by those behind but while they held him at a handful of seconds for several hundred meters, the gap then soared.<\/p>\n<p>His surge came after Decathlon CMA CGM teammates L\u00e9o Bisiaux and Nicolas Prodhomme rode aggressively on the early part of Mont Poupet, effectively softening up the group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a team we rode really well today, all of our bases covered,\u201d Riccitello said. \u201cI\u2019m just happy I could finish it off. It was a big team effort and it was a good day for the team. It was good for Nicolas and L\u00e9o to be aggressive in the first part of the climb, then I knew I had good legs.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder-wrapper relative w-full border-t border-b border-border-light col-span-full my-3 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2\">\n<div class=\"mb-[30px] min-h-[30px] text-center\"><span class=\"font-utility-4 font-medium tracking-[1px] text-neutral-500 uppercase\">ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder -mt-[30px] mb-[30px] flex min-h-[250px] w-full items-center justify-center\">\n<div class=\"w-full \">\n<div id=\"in-content-leaderboard-I0-P0-CMI0\" class=\"flex justify-center text-left\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The victory is win number three this year for the rider from Tucson, Arizona, following on from his stage and overall success in the Tour de la Provence.<\/p>\n<p>He was second on Friday in the Classic Grand Besan\u00e7on Doubs, another hilly French race with a summit finish.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt 3.5km to go, after L\u00e9o accelerated, I started an attack and went as hard as I could to the finish. Seixas has since gone on a rampage, winning the Faun-Ard\u00e8che Classic and three stages plus the overall in Itzulia Basque Country.<\/p>\n<p>The Frenchman is tipped by some to target the Tour de France, potentially opening things up for Riccitello to chase the Vuelta GC.
