\n\t\u201c20 years ago today I performed at Coachella \u2014 I was at the dance tent,\u201d she said from the stage. \u201cIt was the first time I performed Confessions from the dancefloor. Same boots, same corsets\u2026 it\u2019s like a full circle moment.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tShe then noted the astrological significance of the evening: \u201cI also want to point out it\u2019s the new moon of Taurus. Seven planets lined up in Aries\u2026 avoid confrontations. Confessions II<\/em> \u2014 due July 3 on Warner Records \u2014 is produced by Stuart Price, who helmed the original Confessions on a Dance Floor<\/em>, and will be released as a non-stop mix echoing the format of the 2005 album. It marks Madonna\u2019s first full-length album in seven years and her first for Warner Records since Hard Candy<\/em> in 2008. <\/p>\n

\n\tMadonna released \u201cI Feel So Free,\u201d her first single off her upcoming album, \u201cConfessions II,\u201d on Friday, just hours before the Coachella Weekend kicked off.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe appearance made for a considerably more musically star-studded set than Carpenter\u2019s weekend one showing, where guest appearances were limited to actors Susan Sarandon, Will Ferrell and Sam Elliott. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe weekend, Actress Geena Davis also joined for a spoken word monologue \u2014 mirroring Sarandon\u2019s cameo from the prior weekend \u2014 while Terry Crews appeared mid-set to poke fun at his iconic role in White Chicks<\/em> and lightly sing \u201cA Thousand Miles.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCarpenter\u2019s Coachella headline run concludes her blockbuster run behind her 2024 album Short n\u2019 Sweet<\/em>, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced the top five Hot 100 hit \u201cEspresso.\u201d Madonna, meanwhile, heads toward the July release of Confessions II<\/em> \u2014 one of the most anticipated pop albums of the year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
