\n\tNine Inch Nails doesn\u2019t just arrive. Trent Reznor\u2019s industrial metal act steams in, crushes, always leaves an impression. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the stroke of midnight, NIN delivered that full-body experience with the help of Boys Noize, by way of the collaborative album Nine Inch Noize.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tComing in at 46 minutes, with 12 mashups, the collection was announced ahead of their global debut performance as Nine Inch Noize at Coachella on Saturday (April 11), where reworked classic NIN cuts \u201cHeresy\u201d and others got the live treatment at the Sahara Tent at Coachella.<\/p>\n

\n\tNine Inch Noize drops like a hammer ahead of Coachella weekend 2, which should see a repeat performance of Reznor and Co. with the pioneering German techno producer\u00a0on Saturday evening, April 18.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe collaborative album is a natural progression, and walks the tightrope of capturing the studio sound with the chaos of a concert; it\u2019s both a club record and a beating with a metal club. Boys Noize (real name: Alex Ridha) has been the opening act for Nine Inch Nails\u2019 2025\/26 Peel It Back<\/em> tour, a 63-date international run during which the two acts also played a segment of the show together.<\/p>\n

\n\tPreviously, Ridha worked with Reznor and Atticus Ross last year when he remixed the duo\u2019s lauded, techno-forward soundtrack to the film\u00a0Challengers.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tThe Peel It Back<\/em> tour concluded in March in Sacramento, CA., a show at which frontman Trent Reznor\u00a0clarified a statement\u00a0he\u2019d made at an earlier show in Tulsa, OK, that suggested the band was calling time on touring. \u201cI don\u2019t know if we\u2019re going to be touring anymore after this,\u201d he remarked in a\u00a0fan-filmed video\u00a0from the show, \u201cbut I\u2019m proud of the show that we\u2019re doing right now. And I\u2019m f\u2014ing grateful that you\u2019ve chosen to spend your evening with us tonight. Thank you very much.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThat\u2019s obviously not the case. \u201cTo be clear, I think I said something the other day that then got misconstrued into something that is not intentionally, necessarily true,\u201d he later remarked. \u201cWhat I said was, \u2018This is the last show of this tour and we don\u2019t have any shows booked and we don\u2019t have any plans to book any shows anytime in the future, so far.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe continued, \u201cthat doesn\u2019t mean we may not tour again. We may tour again. It won\u2019t be next month, it won\u2019t be this year. I never said we were intentionally stopping, and I never meant that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tNIN has been prolific of late, and full of surprises. The heavy-edged act recently released a companion album to its\u00a0Tron: Ares\u00a0<\/em>soundtrack, titled\u00a0Tron Ares: Divergence<\/em>. It\u2019s the followup to\u00a0TRON: Ares<\/em>, the first-ever film score from Oscar-winning composers Reznor and\u00a0Atticus Ross\u00a0(credited under their\u00a0Nine Inch Nails), which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart.<\/p>\n

\n\tNine Inch Nails has landed eight songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and made 18 appearances on the all-genres Billboard 200, including two leaders: 1999\u2019s\u00a0The Fragile<\/em>\u00a0(one week at No. 1) and 2015\u2019s\u00a0With Teeth<\/em>\u00a0(one week). NIN was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.<\/p>\n
