The original voice of Toph Beifong in Avatar: The Last Airbender<\/a> has told fans not to look at The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender<\/a> leaks.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender was leaked to X \/ Twitter months ahead of its official premiere on Paramount+<\/u><\/a>. The account that leaked the movie said Nickelodeon “accidentally” emailed them the full film. The tweets were eventually removed.<\/p>\n

In December, it emerged that Paramount had ditched plans for a theatrical release of The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender<\/u><\/a> in favor of an exclusive launch on streaming platform Paramount+. The much-anticipated animated movie was due out in theaters on October 9, 2026, but Paramount subsequently set Paramount+ as the exclusive home of Avatar Studios content, forcing The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and original series Avatar: Seven Havens onto the platform.<\/p>\n

Avatar fans who were looking forward to seeing the movie in theaters questioned the decision, which came as a surprise in the context of huge box office success for anime films last year. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, for example, grossed an incredible $774 million at the global box office.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, we reported on an animator who worked on The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender<\/a>, who had criticized those who were using Paramount\u2019s \u201cawful decision\u201d to pull the movie from theaters \u201cto justify leaking it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, Michaela Jill Murphy, who is also known by her stage name, Jessie Flower, has told fans that they should avoid the leaks completely.<\/p>\n

\u201cStop talking about it, and stop sharing things about it,\u201d Murphy said in a TikTok video<\/a>. \u201cIf you want to be respectful, and if you want to know how I feel, stop sharing it. Stop consuming it. Stop talking about it. And watch it when it comes out. That\u2019s what I\u2019m doing. And if you want to respect the creators and respect the cast and respect me, and respect the art, then stop sharing it and editing it and looking at it and commenting about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, in her character\u2019s voice, Murphy added:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe key to Earthbending is your stance. You\u2019ve got to be steady and strong. Rock is a stubborn element, so if you\u2019re going to move it, you\u2019ve got to be like a rock yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo maybe just practice some discipline and patience,\u201d she continued. \u201cFlag videos where you see clips from it. Respect the art and respect the creators. I know everybody might not listen, but that\u2019s not a reason for you not to listen. Just be respectful and wait. That\u2019s how I feel about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Not everyone\u2019s on board with the idea, however. \u201cRespectfully, no,\u201d one person commented. \u201cWe do not support big corporations. Especially ones who gatekeep art. Paramount+ is not available in most European countries, a lot of us wouldn\u2019t be able to experience the movie in any way shape or form. They even scrapped the theatrical release, which would\u2019ve given us the option to at least watch it for a limited time. So the answer is no. We will continue to watch and talk about it, and make edits about it. This franchise has been a part of our childhood just as much. Artists should respect the ones who consume their art. Therefore I encourage everyone to talk about the show, make edits, and have a fun time. Respect has to be earned, and we are not respected, so we do not have any obligations to show it in return.\u201d<\/p>\n

Murphy responded to this comment directly, saying: \u201cThis is an odd takeaway from what I spoke on in the video. There are ways to value artists and art and go against a bigger corporation at the same time. I would encourage you to rethink your current perspective \u201c<\/p>\n

Indeed, Murphy has spent some time responding to comments that were critical of her stance on the leaks. \u201cToph Beifong defending a multi million dollar corporation is so 2026,\u201d one person said. \u201cYou\u2019re kidding me right?\u201d Flower countered. \u201cI\u2019m beginning to wonder who\u2019s really the blind one around here\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
