There\u2019s your first kiss, your first day at school, your first pair of heels and eyeshadow palette\u2026 and then there\u2019s the first time you step onto a stage to kick off your career as a soon-to-be pop star. You\u2019ve probably pictured it before, right? While you\u2019re still perfecting those shower vocals, however, one newcomer is already setting things in motion.<\/p>\n

Following the release of January\u2019s \u201cDifficult\u201d, her debut single, and \u201cBig Deal\u201d, YAZ now gears up for her first EP, \u201cdancing in my room\u201d, set to land on April 17. And what better way to ease into a new chapter than getting her toes wet on stage? Andy Gibb \u201c\u2018An Everlasting Love\u201d, Bread \u201cMake It With You\u201d, and \u201cRushin\u2019 River Valley\u201d by the Fruit Bats.<\/p>\n

How do you prepare for a show \u2013 are there any rituals you swear by?<\/strong>
This is my first show, so I\u2019m sure it will change. For now it\u2019s hot water, lemon and honey and a pep talk.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s inspiring you most right now, and where do you feel you are creatively?<\/strong>
I\u2019m having so much fun at the moment designing my avatar.. My new record is coming out on April 17th and I\u2019ve been loving building the world around it \u2013 band, visuals and everything.<\/p>\n

What does a perfect day look like to you right now?<\/strong>
Sunny, coffee, a run with my friends, LA breakfast burrito that should exist in London, vintage shopping and I find the best heels ever, go to the studio, then a tea with my girls in the evening.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s exciting you about what\u2019s ahead, and where do you see your career taking you next?<\/strong>
I learned a lot from my first EP, which I released independently with my manager (Lidya Gumus, Rain London), and I feel clear now about what I\u2019m making. I\u2019m excited to see where this music lands and where it will take me, I\u2019d love to support an artist on tour and play a festival this year.<\/p>\n
