That\u2019s just the beginning for NetEase, which has plans to make sure its hero shooter doesn\u2019t just stick around, but thrive in the years to come.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent FRVR interview, creative director Guangyun Chen said the studio\u2019s aiming to \u201cbreak boundaries\u201d in 2026 by \u201cmoving beyond standard 6v6 PvP.\u201d Already, there have been several in-game modes for players and a hub where they can hang out and watch <em>Wonder Man <\/em>episodes. Looking ahead, Chen said there\u2019ll be more PvE and talked up the previously announced \u201cPath to Doomsday\u201d event. Starting this month and spread across five updates, each one will have its own themed mode and content, taking inspiration from the four <em>Avengers <\/em>films and culminating in a December update inspired by <em>Avengers: Doomsday<\/em><em>. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>With content plans mapped through 2027, Chen said NetEase isn\u2019t worried about hitting a creative wall anytime soon. The studio\u2019s big aim is to take <em>Rivals\u00a0<\/em>from a hero shooter into something bigger: a \u201ccomprehensive Marvel \u2018moving anime\u2019 experience.\u201d Already, the game has had several tie-in comics and reverberated into the main Marvel books\u2014this summer\u2019s \u201cQueen in Black\u201d event focuses on Hela and comes after <em>Rivals\u2019\u00a0<\/em>third, symbiote-heavy season.
