David Duchovny doesn\u2019t know much about the new The X-Files<\/u><\/a> reboot, but he has at least spoken with Ryan Coogler about what\u2019s in store.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The actor behind the original show\u2019s FBI agent co-lead, Fox Mulder, touched on the reboot during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>. As the show continues to come together behind the scenes, the truth is, he knows little about what the new show is about or even what universe it takes place in.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, I haven\u2019t,\u201d Duchovny said when asked if he\u2019s read a pilot script. \u201cI\u2019ve spoken to Ryan, and I have a general sense of what it is, but I haven\u2019t read the script.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that there have been \u201ctalks about certain things\u201d but stopped short of confirming whether or not he\u2019ll appear, adding, \u201cthere\u2019s nothing concrete at this point.\u201d The star seems to be so in the dark so far that he\u2019s not even sure that, if he were to return, Fox Mulder could even play a part in the new world Coogler is creating.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what the world of his show is. I don\u2019t know if my character exists in that show. It\u2019s all hypothetical to me, so I can\u2019t really address it.\u201d<\/p>\n

News that the classic \u201890s sci-fi TV series would be getting a reboot<\/u><\/a> first emerged in 2023, when Bloomberg<\/u><\/a> reported the director behind Black Panther was spearheading the project. As Coogler finished up work on last year\u2019s explosive Sinners, new details about the new X-Files series story have reared their head since. A synopsis shared by Deadline<\/u><\/a> has said the show will follow \u201ctwo highly decorated but vastly different FBI agents\u201d who \u201cform an unlikely bond when they are assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.\u201d<\/p>\n
