\n\tOn Friday (April 10), it was revealed that the 2010 Zac Brown Band hit \u2014 which reached No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 \u2014 had sounded over the speakers to wake up the crew for another day of work. The feel-good track was then followed by a message personally recorded by Brown for the astronauts.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cGood morning Reed, Victor, Christina and Jeremy,\u201d he told them. \u201cZac from Zac Brown Band here, checking in from the USA. We hope that piece of our song, \u2018Free,\u2019 helps start your day with the right kind of lift. We just want to say how proud we are of you. It takes courage, grit, and freedom to chase the unknown. It\u2019s the purest kind of American spirit.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMillions back home are looking up and feeling more inspired because of you,\u201d Brown continued in his wake-up call. \u201cKeep flying strong. Keep flying safe. We can\u2019t wait to welcome you home.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe singer and his wife, jewelry designer Kendra Scott, shared a video of the historic moment on Instagram, as well as a clip of the couple reacting to the news. \u201cBaby, wake up! They\u2019re playing your song in space!\u201d the businesswoman tells her husband. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFound out that we got to wake up the crew with our song \u2018Free,’\u201d Brown adds in the video, shouting out the \u201cbrave people on this mission.\u201d \u201cWhat an incredible honor.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cChicken Fried\u201d artist is now one of a select few musicians who can say their songs have been played in space. The Artemis II astronauts \u2014 who are now the first humans to have ever seen the far side of the moon in daylight and have traveled farther from Earth than anyone else in history \u2014 also woke up on different days of their journey to \u201cPink Pony Club\u201d by Chappell Roan, \u201cUnder Pressure\u201d by Queen and David Bowie, \u201cWorking Class Heroes\u201d by CeeLo Green and more. NASA recently shared a playlist of all the tracks they\u2019ve played.<\/p>\n
