All your mates constantly badgering you for passenger rides in your Dallara Stradale<\/a>? We\u2019ve got just the thing for you\u2026<\/p>\n

This is the Dallara MPS \u2018Macchina Posto Singolo\u2019, and up until now it was a bit of a secret skunkworks project that kept a small team of Dallara employees busy through the Covid-enforced lockdowns in Italy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Now though, Dallara is auctioning off this unique creation at RM Sotheby\u2019s Monaco sale, and all of the proceeds will go to The Caterina Dallara Foundation (named after founder Giampaolo\u2019s late daughter) to \u201cfoster the social and cultural development of the Val Ceno area\u201d. Wonderful.<\/p>\n

The car should be pretty special too, because it uses plenty of bits from Dallara\u2019s first road car \u2013 the aforementioned Stradale \u2013 and as such features a carbon monocoque chassis and a 400bhp version of Ford\u2019s 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine. Should only weigh around 850kg, too.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The central driving position and styling are inspired by Dallara\u2019s first ever racecar \u2013 the SP1000 from the early 1970s \u2013 and while it does look snug in the cabin, the fit and finish on the MPS is supremely impressive for a one-off. And there we were failing at online pub quizzes during the pandemic\u2026<\/p>\n

Anyway, we\u2019re told by the auctioneers that the MPS has a value \u201cin excess of \u00a3600,000\u201d. So, how much do we reckon it\u2019ll go for?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
