Playground Games have revealed the world map for\u00a0Forza Horizon 6<\/em>, releasing 19 May and bringing Japan to the series for the first time. It looks vast.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the \u201cmost dense and vertical\u201d one yet, the developer says, and that boast does hold up to scrutiny. Prior instalments haven\u2019t exactly shied away from expansive areas, but the scale and variety here looks very exciting indeed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Join us on a tour of the landscape, why don\u2019t you? In the south of the map you\u2019ll see the urban area, including two separate industrial-looking areas, one on an island to the south and one on the east coast. These are likely where a lot of the new\u00a0Horizon Rush events<\/a> will take place.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Further up to the northeast, you can see a golf course, and one of two possible airports with their extended runways, perfect for top speed testing. The golf course could make a strong venue for new online events or a revamped take on Horizon Arcade events.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Further north still, and roughly in the centre of the map, a race circuit is visible. It\u2019s only small, but a welcome sight nonetheless.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Things get more rural in the northeast corner, holding true to the developer\u2019s claim that this game will convey the contrasting aspects of Japan, from the bustling metropolis to traditional farmland and peaceful countryside. Finally, those hills give way to snowcapped mountains that you just\u00a0know<\/em> you\u2019re going to be racing a guy in a wingsuit down in a Horizon Showcase event at some point.<\/p>\n

Forza Horizon 6<\/em> isn\u2019t far off now \u2013 it\u2019s out on 19 May for PC and Xbox Series X\/S, with a PlayStation 5 release coming later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
