That&#8217;s what I call Nintendomination.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also the best five-day opening weekend since Disney&#8217;s Moana 2 (2024), another large animated film. Needless to say, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has claimed the crown for best global opening of 2026, which Project Hail Mary briefly held for a couple of weeks. Expect Mario to surpass that sci-fi feature&#8217;s total haul soon, too.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"injection_placeholder\" data-position=\"1\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It now remains to be seen how the movie performs past its opening week, but with no direct competition on the heavyweight animated film front, we&#8217;re expecting its success to continue.
