running during operational hours.<\/strong> A late storm briefly offered a reprieve, delivering 12 inches of fresh snow to upper elevations, but it was not enough. With warm temperatures rolling in and the lower-mountain snowpack deteriorating rapidly, Vail made the call to wrap up the season.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<h3>A Season to Forget: The Collapse Across the American West<\/h3>\n<p><strong>The closure is the latest in what has been a historically grim winter across the American West.<\/strong> Both Colorado\u2019s and Utah\u2019s 2025\u201326 season has been described as the worst in 50 years, with a persistent high-pressure system repeatedly diverting Pacific storm systems away from the Rockies. Neighboring resort Beaver Creek was already forced to close two weeks before its projected date. In Utah, the snowpack peaked at 75% of average in late February before collapsing to just 15% of median by late March. Sunday, April 5 brings a Mountain Top Sunrise Service at Eagle\u2019s Nest \u2014 free upload at 6 a.m., service beginning at 6:30 a.m. \u2014 and Apr\u00e8s All Day at Express Lift from 2\u20135 p.m. with DJ Alana English.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Closing Day on April 8 culminates with a party at Avanti from 1\u20135 p.m., with the celebrations carrying into the following day at the Town of Vail End of Season Bash at Checkpoint Charlie from 3\u20137 p.m.<\/strong> Apr\u00e8s at The Amp then closes out the season at the Gerald R.
