He\u2019s finding his rhythm, fitting seamlessly in the locker room and looking forward to sharing the floor with star guard Stephen Curry as early as Sunday against the Houston Rockets.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container\">\n<div class=\"ad-wrapper article-treatment\">\n<div class=\"ad-slug-container\">\n<p class=\"ad-slug\">Advertisement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"mid1\" data-position=\"mid1\" class=\"ad place-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>After injuries have derailed the past two seasons, Porzi\u0146\u0123is looks like he is playing without worry again. The Warriors have given him a platform to showcase his game, even as some around the league wondered whether he could stay healthy.<\/p>\n<p>Porzi\u0146\u0123is has earned well over $200 million in his career and is in the final year of a two-year, $60 million deal he originally signed with the Boston Celtics. He is open to staying with the Warriors past this season as they prepare for one more run behind Curry, but as Porzi\u0146\u0123is enters what could be the final two weeks in his brief stint with the Warriors, he\u2019s keeping an open mind about his future.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he would like to remain in Golden State, the veteran big man didn\u2019t commit.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s hard to say,\u201d Porzi\u0146\u0123is told <i>The Athletic<\/i> after Thursday\u2019s 118-111 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. \u201cOf course, it would be nice for me to go ahead and say, \u2018Yes, I want to continue here,\u2019 and this and that.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut the reality is I didn\u2019t have a good year at all. I barely showed what I\u2019m capable of. He has dealt with some health setbacks over his time, including missing two weeks with an illness after debuting on Feb. 19. Porzi\u0146\u0123is acknowledged that the illness was at least partially related to his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6738610\/2025\/10\/22\/kristaps-porzingis-illness-explained-nba\/\">postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) diagnosis<\/a>. Still, he didn\u2019t want to go into detail.<\/p>\n<p>Since returning on March 7, Porzi\u0146\u0123is has remained in the lineup, though he has still not played in both sides of a back-to-back. He still believes he can play a lot better than he has shown to this point.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, I just wanted first to get to decent shape,\u201d Porzi\u0146\u0123is said. \u201cTake care of that. Which I am kind of working my way into. And then seeing the whole picture, kind of taking a step back, not to put too much pressure on myself. It\u2019s been a year like that, and we\u2019ll see.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-container\">\n<div class=\"ad-wrapper article-treatment\">\n<div class=\"ad-slug-container\">\n<p class=\"ad-slug\">Advertisement<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"mid2\" data-position=\"mid2\" class=\"ad place-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cHonestly, the team is great here. I haven\u2019t gotten a chance to play with Steph yet, but the team is great, the city is great, the organization is fantastic. The only thing is the time difference with Europe \u2014 it\u2019s 10 hours, it\u2019s too much. But everything else, I enjoy it here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Porzi\u0146\u0123is was joking about the time difference, but like many within the Warriors organization, he is eager to play with Curry. One of the main reasons Curry has pushed to return to the court is to build chemistry with Porzi\u0146\u0123is and explore how their games complement one another.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, Porzi\u0146\u0123is is just as curious. However, he deflected a question about how much that partnership would factor into his offseason decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWho knows? Maybe we get out there and we can\u2019t play together,\u201d he said with a smile. \u201cI don\u2019t know. Steph doesn\u2019t like to play with me \u2014 who knows? So obviously, I have to take that into account. But I think, with the experience that he has and, obviously, myself now at this point in my career, we will click.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe draws so much attention that it\u2019s gonna make everybody\u2019s life easier. So I expect that. I expect that for myself and for the team. It\u2019s just gonna ease things up. But I also have to learn how to play with him a little bit for sure. It takes time to get some good rhythm, but we definitely as a team, we look forward to it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Porzi\u0146\u0123is\u2019 teammates are certainly looking forward to seeing how the pair works together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat will be crazy,\u201d Warriors forward Gui Santos said. \u201cYou\u2019ve got Porzi\u0146\u0123is, who can do whatever he wants in the paint. You\u2019ve got Steph, who can do whatever he wants in the whole court. So, a pick-and-roll between both, I don\u2019t know who can guard that. I think the team realized pretty quickly what I\u2019m capable of in the post and drawing attention, and creating for myself and creating for the team.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I still feel like I have levels to get to. In terms of shape, in terms of rustiness, and I still \u2014 I\u2019m not too happy with how I\u2019m playing right now. But step by step, and we\u2019re getting Steph back also. And that means something. When you have a really strong staff with somebody like me, maybe that\u2019s had some injuries throughout their career \u2026 to be in the best hands, it makes a difference for me to stay out there healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Porzi\u0146\u0123is, the final five games of the regular season and postseason are less about what\u2019s behind him and more about what\u2019s next. Will he get to play with Curry? Can he stay healthy?
