Now, yet another exciting new show has been announced: <\/span><em><span>Gianni Versace Retrospective, <\/span><\/em><span>opening at Paris\u2019 Mus\u00e9e Maillol in June.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The exhibition marks the first major French retrospective devoted to the designer since 1986, and will include almost 450 pieces, ranging from clothes to sketches, photographs, interviews and videos. It will unpack the influence of Versace\u2019s Catholic upbringing, as well as his fascination with Greek sculpture, Italian opera and the baroque.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<figure class=\"inline-img expandable dev-view-hide\" data-img=\"ba1206a2-72ac-4ba7-a7e0-b42000d9e4c6\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/1967\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1440\/2\/1442909.jpg\" data-img-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\" data-img-aspect-ratio=\"0.66\"><span class=\"has-css-custom-props image-container\" data-aspect-ratio-type=\"portrait\"><span class=\"preserve-aspect-ratio\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Gianni and Donatella Versace \" class=\"img\" height=\"3000\" src=\"https:\/\/images-prod.dazeddigital.com\/786\/azure\/dazed-prod\/1440\/2\/1442909.jpg\" width=\"1967\"><\/span><\/span><figcaption class=\"img-caption\"><span class=\"caption\">Gianni and <span class=\"nowrap\">Donatella Versace<\/span><\/span><span class=\"credit\">Photo by Ron Galella\/Ron Galella Collection via <span class=\"nowrap\">Getty Images<\/span><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"embed-content\" data-embed-type=\"raw-html\">\n<p><span>It\u2019s been a year of big changes for the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/versace\"><span>Versace<\/span><\/a><span> brand: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/donatella-versace\"><span>Dontella<\/span><\/a><span> stepped down as creative director last March; <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/dario-vitale\"><span>Dario Vitale<\/span><\/a><span> replaced her, then departed\u00a0<\/span><span>after just eight months and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/68762\/1\/what-went-down-dario-vitale-s-big-debut-put-the-sexy-in-versace\">one collection<\/a>; the Prada Group bought the brand for \u20ac1.25 billion, and finally, in February it was announced that <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/69327\/1\/pieter-mulier-new-versace-creative-director-prada-group-new\"><span>Pieter Mulier<\/span><\/a><span> will be taking over as creative director. The former <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/alaia\"><span>Ala\u00efa<\/span><\/a><span> designer is due to start his role in July this year, and will no doubt be paying a visit to this exhibition before moving to Milan. The show will serve as a reminder of Versace\u2019s rich history, before its next chapter begins.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Elsewhere in fashion this week, we made it through the first quarter of the year and rounded up all our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/fashion\/article\/70016\/1\/the-biggest-fashion-collabs-you-missed-in-march-y3-mercedes-nike-palace\"><span>favourite fashion collabs<\/span><\/a><span> to celebrate. Now, yet another exciting new show has been announced: <\/span><em><span>Gianni Versace Retrospective, <\/span><\/em><span>opening at Paris\u2019 Mus\u00e9e Maillol in June.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The exhibition marks the first major French retrospective devoted to the designer since 1986, and will include almost 450 pieces, ranging from clothes to sketches, photographs, interviews and videos. The former <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazeddigital.com\/tag\/alaia\"><span>Ala\u00efa<\/span><\/a><span> designer is due to start his role in July this year, and will no doubt be paying a visit to this exhibition before moving to Milan.
