The Olympic champion is debuting in #RVV26 next Sunday!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">The former road race world champion raised eyebrows over the winter when he was spotted riding on some of the key Tour of Flanders climbs. However, he has played down the possibility ever since, amid growing excitement over his potential on the cobbles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">&#8220;How certain is it that I won&#8217;t be starting in the Tour of Flanders? Very certain. 100 percent certain. I have to disappoint you,&#8221; he told <em>Sporza<\/em> at a team training camp in December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\">He also denied it as recently as this weekend, after placing fifth at the Volta a Catalunya.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know you keep pushing, and that many people would love to see me at the start. But it\u2019s not for this year.
