Two decades in, Elder<\/strong> still sound like a band that refuses to settle into one formula. The Massachusetts-founded, now largely Germany-based group is streaming \u201cThrough Zero\u201d, the first single and title track from its new album Through Zero<\/em>, due out 05\/29 through Blues Funeral Recordings in North America, Stickman Records in Europe and the UK, and Bird\u2019s Robe in Australia.<\/p>\n For anyone who has followed Elder<\/strong> from their earlier heavy, downtuned roots through the more progressive and expansive direction of recent years, the new record looks like another step forward rather than a repeat of what already worked. The band\u2019s latest full-length follows 2022\u2019s Innate Passage<\/em> and was produced by Elder<\/strong> themselves, then co-mixed with Richard Behrens<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Speaking about the new single, vocalist and guitarist Nick DiSalvo<\/strong> said: \u201cIn a diverse album, the title track of our new album sits in the middle of the spectrum and is a perfect first impression of what\u2019s to come.
