Not untraceable crypto currency, nor EU legislation, but a strong warning by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).<\/p>\n<p>The FTC is an independent US institution with a variety of responsibilities, including handling consumer protection and antitrust laws and dishing out penalties to companies who act against the wellbeing of the American public. Indie game platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/itchio-deindexes-all-nsfw-games-blames-same-anti-porn-group-that-campaigned-against-steam\">Itch.io stopped showing NSFW games<\/a> to users, with Stripe stating<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/itch-begins-re-indexing-free-adult-nsfw-content-as-it-seeks-alternative-payment-processors\"> it could not &#8220;support sexually explicit content due to restrictions placed on them by their banking partners&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Valve too had to alter the sorts of games being shown on Steam, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/mastercard-insists-it-has-not-required-restrictions-of-any-game-on-steam-or-itchio-but-valve-claims-otherwise\">after claiming Mastercard pressured the company to make changes<\/a>, something Mastercard denied doing.
