marks the start of the clay-court swing with four tournaments scheduled for April, although one of those events will finish in May.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-features\/linz-open-2026-entry-list-four-grand-slam-winners-will-raducanu-and-eala-be-seeded\">Linz Open<\/a> is the first tournament of the month with the WTA 500 starting on 6 April \u2013 although no one in the top 10 will be in action in Austria \u2013 before the big-name players start their clay swing at the Stuttgart Open from 13-19 April.<\/p>\n<p>The Open de Rouen takes place the same time as the WTA 500 Stuttgart event while the WTA 1000 Madrid Open brings the curtain down on the month of April, but it is a two-week tournament with the latter stages taking place in the first week of May.<\/p>\n<h2>WTA News<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/miami-open-coco-gauff-told-positive-she-can-bring-into-clay-court-swing\">Coco Gauff told \u2018positive\u2019 she can bring into clay-court swing<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/fed-cup\/iga-swiatek-latest-schedule-decision-described-as-very-smart-by-serena-williams-former-coach\">Iga Swiatek latest schedule decision described as \u2018very smart\u2019 by Serena Williams\u2019 former coach<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With the WTA using a rolling 52-week cumulative system for the rankings, players will defend points from corresponding periods\/tournaments 12 months ago.<\/p>\n<p>Those points drop at the start of a tournament and players then earn points for their round-by-round progression at that event.<\/p>\n<h2>WTA Top 10 At Start Of April<\/h2>\n<p>1. Aryna Sabalenka \u2013 11,025<br \/>\n2. Elena Rybakina \u2013 8,108<br \/>\n3. Coco Gauff\u00a0 \u2013 7,278<br \/>\n4. Iga Swiatek \u2013 7,263<br \/>\n5. Jessica Pegula \u2013 6,243<br \/>\n6. Amanda Anisimova \u2013 6,180<br \/>\n7. Elina Svitolina \u2013 3,965<br \/>\n8. Jasmine Paolini \u2013 3,907<br \/>\n9. Victoria Mboko \u2013 3,531<br \/>\n10.
