“Brothers and sisters, this is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war,” Leo said.<\/p>\n

“He does not listen to the prayers of those who wage war, but rejects them, saying: ‘Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen: your hands are full of blood’,” he added, citing a Bible passage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During an appeal at the end of Mass, Leo said he was praying for Christians in the Middle East who are “suffering the consequences of an atrocious conflict. In many cases, they cannot fully observe the rites of these holy days.”<\/p>\n
