Report from March 25, 2026<\/em><\/p>\n

Yesterday, neighbor Joe and I rolled out to Brighton Ski Resort in Utah for one reason.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I really wanted one last park day before heading north to Alaska, and this was my last chance.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019d gone to Park City the previous day, and they had already shut the park down and bulldozed all the jumps\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

I had a podcast in the morning with Les 3 Vall\u00e9es<\/span><\/span>, the largest ski resort on Earth at 25,000 acres, so I showed up a bit late.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joe and I clicked into our skis around noon, and the park was already a touch slow due to the heat.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was a fun three-jump line, with the biggest jump at the end, and I never quite got enough speed to clear it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I tried three 360s and knuckled all of them.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was about to walk away when I thought, \u201cThis will be my last shot at a backflip for a while\u201d (I generally don\u2019t backflip while guiding :).<\/strong><\/p>\n

So, knowing damn well I\u2019d hit the knuckle, I went for it and barely got it around\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

But it \u201cworked,\u201d and I rode on to the Milly Chair for some afternoon slush laps.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Milly was fun, with no one around and some neat terrain available.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I goofed off in mini chutes and off mega mogul airs ranging from 10\u201322 inches.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Joe and I had a blast and even ran into Dr. Joe and his medical squad.<\/strong><\/p>\n

All in all, a great day. Then it was 87\u00baF rolling through Salt Lake City on our way back home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A heat wave like we\u2019ve never seen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Never in my 48 years has there been heat like this in the mountains in March.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On to Alaska and cooler temps today.<\/strong><\/p>\n
