Now we know someone <em>tried to<\/em> make it happen.<\/p>\n<p>Via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/travis-howe-a379251_a-long-while-back-a-team-was-assembled-to-activity-7442233492832186368-XfD9\">LinkedIn<\/a>, Travis Howe, who was a senior animator at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/meta-shuts-3-vr-studios-and-lays-off-hundreds-of-devs-as-it-pivots-from-virtual-reality-and-the-metaverse-to-ai\">Sanzaru Games<\/a>, a game studio closed by Meta earlier this year that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/sly-cooper-thieves-in-time\">got to work on the Sly Cooper IP<\/a> in the early 2010s, revealed &#8220;a team was assembled to pitch a remaster of Jak &amp; Daxter&#8221; years ago. This wasn&#8217;t commissioned by Sony and never became a formal proposal. It&#8217;s a good pick to show off what the tentative art direction and style of animation could look like, and it&#8217;s highly reminiscent of the Crash and Spyro remaster efforts, to boot. Some might even call such an approach a &#8220;remake&#8221;&#8230; but that&#8217;s a discussion for another day.<\/p>\n<p>Senior character artist Tyler Bronis is also credited by Howe, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/tyler-bronis-5259b913_a-long-while-back-a-team-was-assembled-to-activity-7442640865224908800-Q4JU\">he later revealed<\/a> work on the small fan project happened in 2019, which places it right after the huge release of the Crash and Spyro remasters.
