claimed that there is \u201croom\u201d for Arthur Fils in the top 10 after the Frenchman continued his resurgent run of form at the Miami Open.<\/p>\n<p>World No 31 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/arthur-fils\">Fils<\/a> reached a career-high of 14th in the ATP Rankings in 2025 and looked to be on a consistently upward trajectory, only for a lingering back concern to derail the second half of his season.<\/p>\n<p>Fils initially withdrew from the third round of the French Open and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/wimbledon\/latest-wimbledon-2025-withdrawals-grass-court-grand-slam-suffers-blow\">was forced to miss the grass-court swing<\/a>, before an attempted comeback at the Canadian Open in August 2025 also failed, with the 21-year-old then out for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n<h2>Tennis News<\/h2>\n<p><a lengthy layoff.<\/p>\n<p>Fils reached the last eight in Montpellier, and after an opening-round loss in Rotterdam, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/arthur-fils-atp-rankings-jump-qatar-open-final-carlos-alcaraz\">then reached the final of just his third tournament back at the ATP 500 Qatar Open in Doha last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old has since reached the quarter-final stage of Indian Wells and is now into the Miami Open quarter-final, reaching the last eight of both events for the second consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tennis-news\/arthur-fils-fully-back-message-destroying-stefanos-tsitsipas-miami-open\">The 28th seed dropped just one game in an astonishing third-round win over Stefanos Tsitsipas in Miami<\/a>, and backed that up with a three-set win over 24th seed Valentin Vacherot to reach the last eight.<\/p>\n<p>Fils\u2019 form less than two months into his comeback has defied expectations, and many are now backing the Frenchman to surge up the ATP Rankings this year.<\/p>\n<p>Among those is former world No 1 and seven-time Grand Slam champion <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/justine-henin\">Henin<\/a>, who offered an optimistic assessment of Fils\u2019 trajectory on <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eurosport.fr\/tennis\/atp-miami\/2026\/masters-1000-miami-2026-justine-henin-il-y-a-de-la-place-pour-arthur-fils-dans-le-top-10_vid60065270\/video.shtml\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Eurosport France<\/em><\/a> this week.<\/p>\n<p>She said (translated from French): \u201cThere\u2019s room for him in the top 10.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen he looks at the names, he should be able to tell himself that he\u2019s capable of challenging them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s singles draw in Miami has blown wide open this year, with only three top-20 seeds \u2014 second seed Jannik Sinner, third seed Alexander Zverev, and 18th seed Francisco Cerundolo \u2014 reaching the quarter-final.<\/p>\n<p>All three of Sinner, Zverev, and Cerundolo are on the bottom half of the draw, with Fils among those handed a significant opportunity on the top half.<\/p>\n<p>The Frenchman will face 22nd seed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/tommy-paul\">Tommy Paul<\/a> in an intriguing quarter-final meeting on Wednesday night, with the winner then facing either qualifier Martin Landaluce or 21st seed Jiri Lehecka in the semi-final.<\/p>\n<p>The draw presents a significant chance for Fils to potentially reach his first Masters 1000 semi-final, and then push on to reach the biggest final of his career to date.<\/p>\n<p>And, Henin thinks Fils will have the belief to reach the final of the Masters 1000 event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019ll think it\u2019s wide open, that there\u2019s a big opportunity. That\u2019s also where we\u2019ll see his temperament, so he doesn\u2019t get caught out,\u201d added Henin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMatches are won and lost, now he has to take it one match at a time.
